Texas Hedgehogs and Exotics ensures the health of all our hedgehogs, therefore you being the new owner are fully responsible for the hedgehog’s well being from the date of purchase, this includes transportation.
Every hedgehog will go home with a lifetime guarantee against whs (wobbly hedgehog syndrome.)
All baby hedgehogs we offer for adoption are to be adopted as pets and new additions to the family. They are not sold as breeders, feeders or any sort of similar use.
We take the health and well-being of our hedgehogs seriously and do not want to contribute to the spread of any illnesses or diseases. As such, we require that any baby hedgehog raised by us showing any signs of serious illness within 72 hours of adoption must be brought to our attention and we must be notified about the condition of your hedgehog. Furthermore, your hedgehog must be seen by an exotic veterinary expert with proof of visit and diagnosis before being brought back to our facility. You must notify us of any conditions or sickness within the first 72 hours of adoption to be eligible for a refund. Should there be any pre existing illness at that point, that can be confirmed by an exotic veterinary expert, you are eligible for a full refund for that hedgehog (not including materials purchased if applicable.)
If your hedgehog qualifies for a refund, we will issue it within 7 business days of receiving the required documentation from an exotic animal veterinarian.
Please note that while we make every effort to ensure the health and well-being of our hedgehogs, there is always a risk of illness or veterinary issues that may arise. It is important to understand the potential risks before making a purchase.
All sales for rescue hedgehogs will be final.
In the event your hedgehog develops whs during their lifetime, you must obtain a diagnosis from your exotic veterinarian to qualify for a refund. However, any other health issues that may emerge while under your care will not be covered and are not eligible for reimbursement.
It is important to remember that hedgehogs are living beings that require proper care and attention. If you cannot provide that care for any personal reasons, it is your responsibility to find a new home for your hedgehog where they will be well taken care of. This may require research and networking with other hedgehog owners or rescue organizations to ensure that your hedgehog is placed in a safe and loving environment.
All sales are final for any other animals we offer which include but are not limited to Flemish Giants, English Lops, Sugar Gliders, Ferrets, Dormice, Degus, Quail, or Chicks.
All of our personal hedgehog babies (non rescue) will come with a care guide and a baggy of their food. You will also be provided with a *short trip* travel box to take your hedgehog home in. Starter cages are also available for separate purchase at $150.
Rescued hedgehogs will also come with all the same supplies.
